Getting to Hinata Cafe by Bus

Those of you who are fans of Sanshi, and other musicians
and don't have any means to come to his concert on 19th, don't fret!

Get yourself to the Fremantle Bus station by any means necessary,
and from there, catch the bus No. 520.

This bus will take you onto the Forrest Rd (a long drive), and
when you see a traffic light of North Lake Rd, you'll see Red Rooster on your right.
Get off the bus at the next stop, and walk ahead until you come to the T junction.
There is a big car park on your right, and you should be able to see a back entrance gate
to the Retro's function centre where Hinata Cafe is held.

バスでも電車でも、まずはフリーマントルのバスステーションへ行ってください。
そこから、５２０番のバスに乗ってください。

バスに乗ると、Forrest　Rd　という長い道に入り、

それを目印にし、次のストップで降りて下さい。
真っ直ぐ、突き当たりの湖まで歩くと、右側に駐車場があり

ひなたカフェのイベントまで、

後6日となりました！！

そんな中、先週の水曜日には

CockburnGazetteのカメラマンをお迎えし

撮影会が開かれました。

残念ながらその様子の写真や

皆の新作を撮り忘れてしまいUpできませんが

今、作家各自から作品の写真を送ってもらっていますのでご紹介します！

今、最後の準備でバタバタしていて写真が全員分集まっていないので

今回は今現在集まっている分をご紹介します。

It's already 6 days to the Hinata Cafe Event!!

We had our last meeting last Wednesday, and the photographer

from Cockburn Gazette had joined us to take our photo!

Unfortunately I forgot to take photo of the scene or members' new items,

but have asked the members to send me the photo of their new items

to upload onto the blog.

I'll upload them as I receive them, so please check this blog out frequently!

or we'll see you at the event!

October meeting

今日は10月のミーティングがありました♪

Cockburn Gazette の取材があるはずだったのですが、

急に予定が変更し、来月に延長されました。

それでも、カフェグループによる試食会は予定通りに行いました。

We had October meeting today.

Cockburn Gazette photographer was to come today, but

it was re-scheduled for November 9th meeting.

It was a pity that the photographer wasn't able to join us for the tasting of our cafe foods.

カフェグループの2人は皆よりも早めに来て

メンバー全員分の料理を綺麗にセッティング！

この素晴らしい料理を見て

メンバー全員歓声を上げました！（⌒▽⌒）

The cafe team started preparation an hour before the other members came,

and produced this lovely dishes!

Everyone was astounded by this beautiful display.

お料理はすべてヘルシー、そして美味！

お料理を食べ終えてから、お料理への感想や意見をのべ合い、

本番のひなたカフェ・イベントに向けてメニューを完成させていきます。

なので、ここでは詳細はふせておきます。

The dish was not only good to look at, but was delicious and healthy as well!

I won't go into details as this is the prototype.

Cafe team will take note of all our comments and new ideas back home

and will finalize the dish next month.

We were also spoiled by this pretty Japanese sweets after lunch!

クラフト・チームも、今までに作ってきた新作を持参し

色々と意見交換したり、新しいアイデアをもらったり

話に花が満開でした。（⌒▽⌒）

今回は、試食会に気を取られていて

皆の新作写真を撮り忘れてしまったので

次回、１１月９日のミーティングで

新作の画像をUpしますね♪

Our craft team also brought their new creations

and we all admired each other's work

and also received lots of new ideas!

I forgot to take pictures of them from the excitement of the delicious foods

but will upload them after 9th Nov meeting.

Sept meeting

今日は９月のミーティングで、合計１２名集まりました。
少数のメンバーは、早めにミーティングを始め、
カフェの段取り等を詳しく話し合いました。
We had our Sept meeting today with 12 members!
Few of the member had started the meeting early to discuss
organisation of the cafe.

今日のミーティングでは、イベントまでの間にしなくてはいけない事柄を
詳しく話あいました。
一番にする事は、今日各自に配られたフライヤーを配る事！
メンバーが各自よく行くお店、コミュニティーセンターやマーケットに
フライヤーを置いて回りますので、もし目にしたら、どうぞお持ち帰りくださいね♪
We have discussed in detail of necessary tasks we should do
from now up to the big day.
The most important thing to do is to distribute the flyer we received today!
All member will distribute the flyer to shops, community centre,
markets, etc so if you see one, please take it home with you!

カフェのチームは、これからドンドンメニューを完成させてゆき、
次のミーティングではその試食会を行います！
作家チームも次のミーティングには新作を持ち寄り
お互いのモチベーションに働きかけていこうと思います。
Cafe team will be finalizing their menu,
and we will be having a tasting meeting next month!
Craft team will also try and create new art works,
and will show them around in the meeting.

August 31 Meeting

大変お待たせいたしましたが、ウララの新しい名前が決まりました！

「ヒナタ・カフェ」

何度も皆で会って話し合い、やっと決まったこの名前。

皆が集まる場所が、ひなたのように暖かい場所でありたい、

そんな皆の気持ちが込められた名前です。

Our new name has been decided as

" Hinata Cafe"

"Hinata" means "under the sun, or sunny place" in Japanese.

Members met several times and discussed on all different names

and came up with this name.

We hope our group will be a warm place like "Hinata".

そして、こちらが今年のフライヤーです！

デザイン制作はすべてNaokoちゃんが行ってくれました♪

新しい　Hinata　という名前にピッタリな

とても素敵なデザインで、皆歓声を上げて喜びました。（⌒▽⌒）

フライヤーの最終確認と

新しいメンバーをお迎えする為に

８月３１日にミーティングを開きました。

We had a second meeting in August to finalise the brochure

and to welcome another new member to the "Hinata"!

今回は音楽のサンシさんも参加で、合計１２人集まりました！

子供も合計４人でとってもにぎやかでした。

新しいメンバーは、前のブログでご紹介したカードを作られる方で

お名前はNaokoさんです。

もう１人のメンバーは、子供服やビブを作ってらっしゃるRiinさん。

This time Sanshi, who will be having a Didgeridoo live concert and

workshop for Hinata, had joined us.

The number gathered to the meeting hit our record high of 12, with 4 kids!

Our new member is Naoko, who makes cards,

and Riin, who makes kids clothes and bibs, etc.

All dishes brought by all members are delicious

and eating them together adds extra spice!

次のミーティングは９月２８日で、

その時に配布用のフライヤーが各自に配られます。

１０月に入れば、お店のあちらこちらで

フライヤーを目にする事になると思いますので

是非、手にとって見て下さいね♪

Our next meeting will be held on 28th Sept.

We will then have printed brochures each for us to

distribute them around our local areas.

If you see one in a shop, please stop to pick one up!

August meeting

昨日は久しぶりのミーティングがありました♪

今回は、再度「うらら」というグループ名についての話し合いと

なおこちゃんがデザインした宣伝用のフライヤーの確認、

そして新しいメンバーとの顔合わせがありました。

新しいメンバーは、和紙をメインに使用したカード作家さん！

まだブランド名をお聞きしてないので、また次回ご紹介します。

「うらら」という名前についてですが、

つい最近になって、同じ名前のカフェがパースにオープンする事が明らかになり

やむなく変更する事となりました。

We had August meeting yesterday.

Our main discussion was on our new group name,

previewing of Naoko's flyer design,

and welcoming of our new member.

Our new member makes cards mainly by using Washi (Japanese paper).

I did not get her brand name, so will post her name in the next update.

With regards to the group name "ulala",

we have decided to come up with a different name

as we found out that a new cafe with a same name has opened up in Perth.

「うらら」の名前変更については、色々なアイデアが出てきましたが、

最終的に「ことり」に変更する方向に話がまとまりました。

スペル等をどうするか、まだ決めかねている時点ですが

今月末のミーティングで決定する予定です。

完成したフライヤーもその時にご紹介致します！＾＾

We came up with several new names for the group, but at the end

"kotori" came as the most popular name of them all.

"kotori" means small bird in Japanese, but to make it more familiar to English speaking people,

we still have to come up with the best spelling for it.

We'll be finalising the flyer on our next meeting, so we will decide then on the spelling.

We will post this year's flyer on the next update, so keep watching!

こちらはカフェ担当のともえさん作、桜餅！＾＾

素敵なピンク色のもち米の中に、程よい甘さのあんこ。

そしてちょうど良い塩気の桜の葉っぱが絶妙にマッチしていて

最高においしかったです！！！

This is the traditional Japanese sweets Tomoe made for us!

It is called "sakura-mochi" (cherry sticky rice ball)

The outer layer of pink sticky rice is wrapped with a subtly salted cherry leaf.

The texture of rice and hint of salt with an aroma of cherry leaf,

conbined with sweet red bean paste in the centre

is the golden harmoney for your palate.

こちらは頼んでおいたAngelBeadsさんの手作り石鹸。

ピンクは米ぬか入りで甘いイチゴのような香り、

黒が炭の入ったドラゴンブラッドの香り。

ドラゴンブラッドは、マスクのような、和風なような、

私の結構好きな香りなんですが、上手く説明できません。＾＾；

とにかく、これを使うとサッパリ感があるのに

お肌がまったくつっぱらないので、冬場でもクリームつけるのを忘れるくらいです。

人間用のシャンプーは油を落としすぎるから使えないワンちゃんも

これだけ優しい石鹸なら大丈夫だろう、と思い、使ってみました。

These are hand made soaps I bought from Angel Beads.

Pink one has a sweet strawberry aroma, and the black one has a musky aroma

which resembles Japanese incense.

Black one has a "sumi" inside.  "Sumi" is charcoal in Japanese, and

it is known to have a powerful natural cleansing agent and is widely used

in special soaps sold in Japan.

Pink one has "kome-nuka" inside. It's rice bran, and it is also

very popular as a facial cleanser in Japan.

I love using these hand made soaps made by Angel Beads,

as it feels very clean after using it,

but my skin doesn't dry out like it used to with the normal soap.

My skin feels so naturally moisturised that I often forget to put cream on.

Because the soap is so good, I though to use it on my dog as well.

Dog coat should leave its natural oil on, so it's not good to use shampoo for human.

Since this soap feels so gentle, but with such a pleasant aroma

it seemed an ideal soap to use on my dog as well.

タオルドライ前は、なんとなくきしむ感じはありましたが、

毛を乾かした後は毛質がフワフワで、良い香り！

ドラゴンブラッドは香りが長く続くみたいなので

体臭が気になるワンちゃんには理想的だと思います♪

お値段も、ワンちゃん用のシャンプーを買うよりも安いので

これからずっと、うちの子はAngelBeadsさんの石鹸を愛用させてもらいます！

もちろん私も♪　＾＾

This is my mum's poodle, and I washed her yesterday with the soap.

Before drying her with a towel, the coat felt a bit coarse.

(like your hair will feel if you wash it with a soap)

After drying it with a towel and a dryer, her coat became very soft.

And she smells like heaven!

I have used the soap on my dog as well, and she's smelling lovely

and feels soft as ever.

It's also cheaper than buying a natural type dog shampoo.

I'll be lost without this soap from now on.
